Death of former Raja Casablanca player Lotfi Mchich

The deceased played as a striker and left back for the Casablanca club during the 1971, 1972 and 1973 seasons.

During his time at Raja, the deceased rubbed shoulders with the biggest national stars of the period, notably Mohamed Abdelalim (Benene), Petchou, Omar Betti, Abdelmajid Doulmi.

In a statement to MAP, Mohamed Abdelalim (Benene), indicated that the deceased joined the Raja in the early 70s at the age of 18.

Lotfi had to end his football career in 1973-1974 after obtaining his baccalaureate, Benene stressed, adding that the deceased subsequently decided to continue his studies in France.

Before joining the first team of the Casablanca club, Lotfi played in the ranks of the cadet and junior teams of the Greens, recalled Benene, noting that the deceased also wore the jersey of the national youth team.

Having rubbed shoulders with the player, even for a short period, several personalities of the Casablanca club, including Mustapha Hannaoui, Abdesalam Hanat and Tantaoui, highlighted the technical qualities of the player and his elegance. The deceased aroused the admiration of the best players of the time, including Said Ghandi, Abdellatif Bakkar and Majid El Hadari.

The deceased will be buried on Monday afternoon in Casablanca.
