New Delhi: Haryana CM Naib Singh, who was on a tour to Gurugram and Delhi, met world champion Team India member Yuzvendra Chahal. During this, he honored Chahal by giving him a memento. Team India won the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa on 29 June in Barbados. Yuzvendra Chahal, who belongs to Haryana, was a part of the 15-member Indian team, due to which he was honored by Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini. During this, Chahal’s family was also present there.
Yuzvendra Chahal was born on 23 July 1990 in Jind district of Haryana. Chahal, who troubled the batsmen a lot with his spin in the early days, did not succeed in making it to the playing-11 in the T20 World Cup 2024 team, but his contribution to Team India will always be incomparable.

CM Naib Singh Saini wrote on the message, ‘I met Yuzvendra Chahal, who was a part of the world champion Indian cricket team of T20 World Cup and a son of Haryana soil. Yuzvendra Chahal has inspired countless youth of Haryana including the whole country towards cricket and to make a career in sports. Congratulations and best wishes to him and the entire Indian team for this great victory.’
A photo of the meeting between Chahal and Naib Singh has also surfaced on social media. In this, it can be seen that the CM first made Chahal wear the World Cup winner’s medal. Then he honored him by presenting him with a shawl and a memento. India won that match against South Africa by 7 runs. India did not lose any match in the competition and ended the drought of ICC trophy after 11 years.

World Cup winning team given a grand welcome
After winning the final match of the World Cup, all the players of the team including captain Rohit were very emotional. Rohit and Virat Kohli had tears in their eyes. The Indian team was given a grand welcome after returning home. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the team in Delhi and then the team went to Wankhede Stadium from Marine Drive in Mumbai participating in the Vijay Parade, where the BCCI honored the team.
