The exclusive supplier of displays for the iPhone SE 4 will most likely be the Chinese company BOE. This was reported by the publication MacRumors with reference to IT Home, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

Three companies were in talks to supply Apple with OLED panels: Samsung Display, BOE, and Tianma. Today, it was reported that Samsung has pulled out of the deal due to pricing issues, despite having stockpiles of OLED panels for the iPhone 14, which are expected to be used in the iPhone SE 4.

Apple reportedly insisted on a price of $25 per panel, but Samsung refused to lower the price below $30. At the same time, Chinese competitors BOE and Tianma agreed to lower the price below $30 per unit. This leaves BOE and Tianma as the only potential suppliers. At the same time, Tianma has not yet achieved the quality of screen manufacturing that would satisfy Apple’s requirements. As a result, BOE has a good chance of receiving, if not all, then certainly the majority of Apple’s orders for iPhone SE 4 screens.

Rumor has it that the panels for the iPhone SE 4 are much cheaper than those used in the iPhone 15. This suggests, writes MacRumors, that the SE will use outdated parts identical to those used in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. This arrangement is primarily beneficial for Apple’s suppliers, since they will not have to adjust their existing production lines to produce fundamentally new components.

The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to feature a design similar to the iPhone 14, with a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID instead of Touch ID, a USB-C port, and an Action Button.
