How the Minimum Input Base is calculated
Each University Department sets as an EBE percentage X% of the average (MO) of the average performance (ME) of all the candidates in the four courses (M1, M2, M3, M4), of the candidate’s scientific field [ΜΟ=ΜΕΜ1+ΜΕΜ2+ΜΕΜ3+ΜΕΜ4)/4]
The range for X% is determined by the Ministry.
The values 0.80 and 1.20, respectively, were set as the minimum and maximum value of the EBE coefficient of schools, departments or initial directions for admission to higher education.
A number with up to two decimal places can be defined as the EBE coefficient, which is within the minimum value interval and the maximum value above.
For example:
- Average performance of all candidates in a scientific field: 12/20.
EBE defined by University department: 90% of the Midterm, ie 10.8. - Average performance of all candidates in a scientific field: 11/20.
EBE defined by University department: 90% of the Midterm, ie 9.9.
In the schools, departments or initial directions, which are included in more than one scientific field, for the calculation of the EBE, the lowest average of the grade performance averages of the candidates in the courses of the scientific fields examined nationally, to which the specific schools are included, which are included, departments or initial instructions.
The EBE coefficient is the same for each school, department or admissions guide to admit candidates from GEL full-time or evening. or EPA.L.
It is recalled that the implementation of the EBE was introduced during the academic year 2021-2022, based on a relevant Decision from the Minister.
