The hotel was purchased from Qatari prince Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, according to Bloomberg. The estate was used as one of the prince’s private residences and he spent about $ 147 million to renovate the property, which covers an area of about 4,000 square meters. The construction of the estate dates back to 1640, and was probably designed by one of King Louis XIV’s most beloved architects, Louis Le-Wau.
