Chhatra League Central Committee President Saddam Hossain said that the quota can be solved by following the legal procedure without increasing public suffering. He said these things in a gathering organized at the foot of Raju Sculpture of Dhaka University (DU) on Thursday (July 11) evening.
Saddam Hossain said that the quota issue is now in the hands of the court. After the court has given ‘status quo’, creating public nuisance by blocking the intersections cannot be a proper procedure. He said that the demand for a logical, inclusive and positive solution to the issue of the students’ movement over the quota has also been conveyed by the Chhatra League. Chhatra League wants a logical solution to the quota system. Chhatra League wants the solution which is welfare and sustainable. Government lawyers are fighting. The government itself says that the government is serious about the quota issue. So who wants to make trouble in the name of the movement?

Sheikh Wali Asif Inan said that even though the court decided to uphold the circular of 2018, one community is still trying to catch fish in murky water. The court took 4 weeks to consider the merits of the students’ demands. However, there is no justification for this movement.

Dhani Chhatra League president Mazharul Kabir told the sleeping quota activists that they should not play with the emotions of ordinary students. There is no need for blockades or riots at this time. We call upon the students to lift this deadlock and blockade and return to classes.
DU General Secretary Tanveer Hasan Saikat said that one party is trying to use the emotions of ordinary students to make those students stand against the Chhatra League. The court has given a verdict. After the judgment of the court there is no further movement. What remains is apolitical.
