Dr. Ahmed Al-Atrash, a professor of political science at Libyan universities, called for a review of all certificates of those who classify themselves as faculty members, without exceptions. He stressed that most of our universities are full of people with fake and forged certificates!

Dr. Al-Atrash said in a post on his Facebook account that Libyan universities are currently seeking to obtain local quality requirements (institutional and programmatic) in order to “save what remains of face” after a disastrous failure at the level of international classifications.

He added: “Despite the attempts I have witnessed to achieve what I wanted, I, by virtue of my profession, follow-up and interest, see the necessity of focusing on preventing and criminalizing the practice of teaching and working outside the university, whatever the motives and justifications, and stopping the practice of the mentality and culture of “Zakkar/Zamzamat”!”

The professor of political science also called for the provision of a university library that takes into account international standards, in terms of providing references and sources, and through all cognitive means.

He also called for the implementation of Regulation 501 regarding the expulsion of students (electronically) who were absent from lectures for more than 25% of the total lectures.

Dr. Al-Atrash concluded by saying: “This is just a well-deserved point of view regarding the torrent of threats we see that affect the dignity of the pure/genuine university professor.”
