Daniel Muñoz was shown a straight red card at the end of the first half in last night’s match against Uruguay, after elbowing Manuel Ugarte.
Despite the fact that Colombia played the entire second half with 10 players, the team managed to overcome, hold on and secure the victory that takes them to the final against Argentina. However, Muñoz will miss the crucial match due to his expulsion.
On his social media, Daniel Muñoz shared an emotional message addressed to the fans and his teammates:
«Today my heart is broken in two“, wrote Muñoz. “One part devastated and the other happy for making it to the final. What balls and what brave hearts my teammates (brothers) had, who, despite being one less, broke their backs and pulled through, fulfilling the dream of all Colombia of being in the final!”

Muñoz concluded his message by saying that “No matter how many times I fall, I will always get up stronger. Long live my team, long live COLOMBIA!”
