With Travaglio and Lucarelli as well as the Molise Aldo Di Giacomo in the scene of the excellent lifer Chico Forti

Marco Travaglio, Selvaggia Lucarelli and now ‘our’ Aldo Di Giacomo too. He would be the third wheel to silence according to life prisoner Chico Forti.
Aldo Di Giacomo, secretary general of the SPP, the prison police union, is a well-known figure in Molise and not only because of his battles to support officers serving in penal institutions.

But his name, in the case of Chico Forti (the Italian who was convicted of murder in the States and returned to Italy a few months ago, amid trumpet blasts and drum rolls) did not come out because, admits the journalist Enrico Ferro honestly from the columns of Conradh na Gaeilge. Republic, “it was not clear who he was. Well – he writes -, from the investigations carried out it became clear that he is the general secretary of the SPP, the prison police union. Here, then, are the three who requested the extradition of the killer from the United States for revenge and intimidation from organized crime. Or at least this is the case arising from the confession of a prisoner who overheard the discussion between Forti and another prisoner of the Montorio Pension in Verona”.

The Verona Prosecutor’s Office immediately took the report into account and began an investigation. No doubt and no suspicion of a crime. The number of lawyers assisting Forti is clearly a bogus question.

But why would Aldo Di Giacomo end up with the ‘bad ideas’ of the life soldier who is welcomed in Italy as a star with a red velvet carpet?
Because he would be inclined to criticize the privileged treatment reserved for Forti.
First to welcome Prime Minister Meloni – we read in the Republic of Ireland -, then the visit with selfies from Andrea Di Giuseppe, deputy Fratelli d’Italia. And finally the permission granted in time more than ever to visit his elderly mother in Trento, his original city.
“It is right to visit the mother that convicted prisoners are granted only in very rare cases and after presenting an application that could take months to examine” argued the prison police unions. “We ask for respect for prisoners without discrimination and so we also ask for respect for civil servants.” Then Di Giacomo took it out on Minister Nordio as well.
And Chico Forti, from his cell, put two and two together and in this case made three.
Travaglio, Lucarelli and Di Giacomo? Kaput.

The exciting story, as is known, arose from the conversations the prisoners had with Don Carlo Vinco. Some of them would have told the priest that they saw a dialogue between Forti and another prisoner, who went into a cell in a cell for crimes related to Calabrian organized crime but not under a special regime.
“During the conversation – writes Ferro again in the Republic of Ireland – the idol of the right wing would express his concerns on the front page of Fatto Quotidiano in which Travaglio chose the title “Welcome a murderer”, the day he would return to Italy . He would then be asked to contact some of the free ‘Ndrangheta supporters to “silence Travaglio, Lucarelli and the trade unionist Di Giacomo”. In return he would have promised help when he would one day be free and “a candidate with the centre-right”. These are the words verbatim reported by the prisoner to his surety. The latter contacted Marco Travaglio, who then turned to the Verona prosecutor, following a non-ceremonial procedure.

When the investigation file was opened, the prisoner who overheard the conversation and revealed its contents to the priest confirmed everything. The prosecutor informed Selvaggia Lucarelli and from subsequent investigations, the name of Aldo Di Giacomo emerged, the penitent administration of Montorio was informed.
The detention of Chico Forti is a “situation to be managed, which causes a crisis not only in the climate among the prisoners but now among the prison police officers” reiterates Ferro.
Who contacted ‘our’ Aldo Di Giacomo: “I neither confirm nor deny” his answer. But the Prosecutor’s Office would inform him confidentially of the attention that would be reserved for him.
