Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home after a three-day visit to China. He went on a bilateral visit to that country at the invitation of Prime Minister Li Qiang.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines special flight (BG-1704) carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday (July 10) at 12:30 pm.

Earlier, the flight took off from Beijing Capital International Airport at 10:05 PM local time in China.

During his stay in Beijing from July 8 to 10, the Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting with the President of China Xi Jinping and completed various programs including a delegation-level bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister Li Qiang.

After a delegation-level bilateral meeting between the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the Premier of China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on July 10, the two countries signed 21 Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and announced seven projects.

The Prime Minister was accorded a red carpet welcome when he arrived at the Great Hall of the People earlier this morning. The Prime Minister was welcomed by the Chinese Premier on his arrival at the Great Hall of the People. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Beijing last Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, after the meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang on Wednesday afternoon local time, Foreign Minister briefed Dr. Hasan Mahmud.

He said that relations with Bangladesh are of utmost importance. Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang today announced USD 1 billion as economic aid to Bangladesh.

He said that the Chinese Prime Minister expressed his desire to advance the relationship between Bangladesh and China to a new height. In a cordial atmosphere, fruitful discussions were held between Bangladesh and China on all issues.
