The United States will begin deploying new, longer-range weapons on German territory from 2026 than those currently deployed anywhere in Europe. This is stated in a joint written statement by the United States and Germany, which was distributed by the White House press service, Day.Az reports.

“The United States will begin episodic deployment of its Multi-Domain Task Force’s long-range lethality capabilities to Germany in 2026 as part of planning for the continued fielding of these capabilities into the future,” the document notes. “Once fully developed, these conventional lethality units will include: [многоцелевые ракеты] SM-6, [крылатые ракеты] Tomahawk and experimental hypersonic weapons that have a significantly greater range than those currently deployed in Europe,” the statement emphasized.

According to its authors, these steps by Washington “will demonstrate the United States’ commitment to NATO” and its contribution to “European integrated deterrence capabilities.”
