The name is necessary for the new product to look a little different, and the prestige of the brand makes it cool. The speaker body is made from a single piece of aluminum on a CNC machine. The finished metal goes through sandblasting and anodizing. And the most important thing is that they don’t put symbols or any unnecessary visible information on it, and they don’t add buttons. The only shiny metal with a scattering of small holes for five sound sources, which easily fits the concept of the Scandinavian style.
According to Nocs Design founder Daniel Alma, engineers spend countless hours just achieving the perfect fit in the speaker position. And it is certainly not in vain. Let me review: Monolith Aluminum looks better and more than its predecessor, the cost of which is also one and a half times higher. But this is purely a visual comparison.
In the new Nocs there are two inch speakers and two ultra-compact woofers. All of them are based on neodymium magnets, the latter also include cooling to reduce the level of destruction. Rounding out the package is a slightly under-inch tweeter and a 225-watt closed-loop Class D amplifier. The frequency response of the Aluminum Monolith falls within the range from 39 Hz to 23 kHz. All this is organized in the Nocs studio in Lund in collaboration with DJs and musicians, the creators are sure.
The speaker supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. Works with Spotify Connect music services, Tidal Connect, as well as Nocs Design’s own music app previously announced. In the future they promise support for other popular streaming services. On a fully charged 5000 mAh battery, the device can play music for 15 hours. It is true that it will not be easy to carry the speaker in your hand far from the place where they are coming out. Despite the fact that aluminum is a relatively light metal, the total weight of the Aluminum Monolith reaches 4 kg. The price of the new product is $ 1 thousand, the first deliveries are promised to start in November.
