To ensure the safety of Salvadorans, the deputies of the Legislative Assembly approved yesterday the extension of the State of Exception for 30 more days, a measure that has restored peace and tranquility to families that for years were subjected to gangs.
Today, the story is different for those who experienced the exodus of these terrorist structures firsthand, since through successful security measures, led by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, – among them the Regime of Exception – El Salvador has consolidated itself as the safest country in the Western Hemisphere.
The Bukele administration has recorded 657 days without deaths, of which 543 are within the State of Exception.
It is worth noting that June of this year was the first month of Bukele’s second term, which ended as the safest in the entire history of El Salvador, registering 24 days without violent deaths, of which 19 were consecutive. This was the third month of the year in which the same number of days without homicides were reported.
