There is no shortage of amenities. Local coaches, foreign coaches are always coming and going. Domestic and foreign trainers visit BCB throughout the year. Today this program is tomorrow that program. There is no shortage of competition. Competition is more or less. Still, why the Bangladeshi cricketers are unable to take themselves to the next level is a puzzling puzzle.

BCB has also extended all facilities to the ongoing High Performance (HP) Unit of BCB. Practice opportunities in Dhaka and outside Dhaka. Match playing environment and good remuneration. Now BCB is sending them to Australia. Where two four-day matches, three one-day matches and six T20 matches will be played. The team will leave the country for Australia on July 13. The team includes national team cricketers like Afif, Tanjid, Joy. They are being sent to Australia in the long term. HP chief Naimur Rahman Durjoy urged them to take responsibility for their improvement even after getting all the facilities.

After joining the official photo session with the team on Wednesday (July 10, 2024), Durjoy said, ‘We want our process to go well. We want to retain the opportunity to be in the game and increase our opportunities by the board. That is why I said it is the responsibility of the player to use these opportunities. We can only make it. But it’s the player’s responsibility to use that to take themselves to the next level or to keep that focus.’

Regarding the joining of the national team cricketers in HP, Durjoy added, ‘Some of the players from the national team who are playing here have been taken. Because, in 2027 we have a tour with Australia, but that game will also be in Darwin. They also have a preparation. Because, many times we see our new players or playing for the very first time making their debut in an unfamiliar environment. So that those things don’t happen, because of that, we have a tour every year in HP’s program.’

Durjoy promised to organize regular HP series, ‘We want to continue this series in the future. Our objective is to create opportunities for players. We hope that the players will make use of it to serve the country in the future.’

BCB appointed Australian Nathan Horitz as HP’s head coach. But his father fell ill and could not come to Bangladesh. Colly Collymore will also serve as the head coach of the team in this series. Collymore was serving as the pace bowling coach.
