BTS Jin Carries Olympic Torch Near Louvre on Bastille Day

BTS’s oldest member Jin (real name Kim Seok-jin, 32) will be carrying the 2024 Paris Olympic torch on the 14th (local time).

According to some Olympic news media outlets on the 13th, Jin will be the first torch bearer in the Louvre section of the torch relay in Paris on the weekend of the 14th.

Jin is expected to perform his section at the Louvre Museum’s pyramid, and his torch relay is expected to begin around 8:30 p.m.

The torch relay in mainland France, which began in Marseille in southern France on May 8, has been ongoing for over two months.

The 14th, when Jin will be carrying the torch, is Bastille Day, and the torch will arrive in Paris on that date. The torch will travel around Paris until the 15th, then head back to the provinces and return to Paris on the 26th for the opening ceremony.

Jin is a member of BTS, a group that is loved all over the world and has global recognition, and it seems that he was chosen as the torch bearer as the team has been emphasizing the message of ‘Love yourself’ and love and peace.

Jin was the first BTS member to be discharged from the military on the 12th of last month. He began his activities by holding a fan meeting on the 13th of last month, which was also BTS’ 11th debut anniversary. After appearing on the MBC entertainment show ‘It’s Good to Get a Good Rest’, it was reported that he is also preparing a new song as a singer, his main occupation.

Jin recently left a message on the fan community Weverse, saying, “I’m recording, filming variety shows, and steadily carrying out the plans I made in the military,” and “I’m trying to show my face as much as possible while also working on my main job. The results will all be coming out in a few months, so please wait a little longer.”

Meanwhile, Jin departed for France via Incheon International Airport on the 11th to participate in the torch relay.
