BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury urged the students to fight for voting and democracy in the country like the quota reform movement.
He made this call at a discussion meeting at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Friday (July 12). On the occasion of the anniversary of the 31-point and one-point announcement of the simultaneous movement, the discussion meeting was organized by the democracy stage.
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that the way the government is running the country, there is no chance for talented people to take Bangladesh forward in the future. Because, I don’t think, they want to see Bangladesh as a talented state. Talents speak the truth, follow the path of truth, protest, resist.
Regarding waterlogging on various roads of the capital due to continuous rain, he said that Dhaka city will sink. Because there are no talented people anywhere. Talents should be brought in who do various tasks from planning to implementation. If work is carried out by party people, then Dhaka will sink, whole Bangladesh will sink. Already drowned economically and politically, now you can see only the water puddle. Bangladesh has sunk from all sides.
This member of the BNP Standing Committee said that the people of Bangladesh have lost their ownership. This ownership has been taken away by someone. National unity of political parties was a major factor in bringing back the original ownership of the people of Bangladesh. In which process this ownership will be returned, it was in our 31 clause. What changes should be made in the constitution, judiciary, parliament, economic system and social system to return the ownership of the state to the people were in 31 points.
He said that without national unity, there is no chance of reforming the state and making a new political arrangement. This consensus is not only about the movement to overthrow the fascist government, but it is also worth noting whether we have been able to highlight the hope of change in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh in the future by dismissing the government. I think he managed to do it in 31-point detail. However, what I couldn’t do, I couldn’t touch people’s hearts in 31 steps. We could not deliver it to people.
Amir Khosru also said that if we all can guarantee the implementation of 31 points and reach the people of the country, only then the anti-government movement will be fulfilled. That is why the program should be given if necessary.
Chief Coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement Jonaid Saki also attended the discussion meeting – President of Nagarik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna, General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, Coordinator of State Reform Movement Advocate Hasnat Qayyum, Convener of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, Vir Mukti Joddha Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, General Secretary of Gano Forum. Subrata Chowdhury, Samajtantrik Dal vice-president Tanya Rob and general secretary of the People’s Rights Council Rashed Khan and others.
