The Gazpromavia SSJ 100 plane crashed in the Kolomensky district of the Moscow region during a test flight after “scheduled repairs”, TASS quoted anonymous rescue services as saying.

The Russian-made plane was flying from its base at the Lukhovitsy Aviation Plant to Vnukovo Airport when it disappeared from radar, the RBC news website quoted a source close to the Russian Emergencies Ministry as saying.

Kolomnensky, Luchovici and Vnukov are located southeast of Moscow.

The plane was reportedly carrying three pilots of the civil aircraft company Suchoj and no passengers. The Interfax agency specified that two pilots and one flight engineer were killed.

Another anonymous emergency source told RIA Novosti that the plane exploded immediately after it made an emergency landing in the forest.

Witnesses claimed that the video showed black smoke rising from the ground immediately after the crash.

“SSJ 100” was commissioned in 2011. and was the first passenger plane produced in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
