Recently, Karan Johar had said something about the increasing fees of actors and the films getting flopped at the box office. He had said- actors whose films are not able to get an opening of 3.5 crores are demanding a fee of 35 crores. He had expressed his displeasure over the unreasonable demands made during the shooting of the film.

Renowned film producer and film director Karan Johar shared his pain as a producer in an interview recently. He said that there are very few good actors in Hindi cinema, but they also demand the sun, moon and earth. The situation has become such that actors whose films do not get an opening of 3.5 crores are demanding a fee of Rs 35 crores. According to Karan, you give them money to sign the film. Then you give them money to do the film. Apart from this, there are other expenses too, but after all this your film is not able to earn at the box office. Of course, Karan’s statement is justified to a great extent, because the box office has been going through a very bad phase for a long time and films are flopping one after the other. These include big star and big budget films as well.

Especially if we look at the performance of films at the box office after Corona, then except for a few films, most of the films have not been able to do anything special. Despite this, except for a few stars, there has been no reduction in the fees of most actors. According to industry experts, instead of reducing their fees, many stars have chosen the option of working in fewer films. That is, they will work in those films for which they will get the desired fees. However, the matter does not stop at just the fees. Apart from the fees, the producer’s condition becomes worse in tolerating other tantrums of the actors. Recently, another famous film director also expressed displeasure over the strange demands made by big stars during the shooting of the film. In particular, he had raised questions on the demand for many vanity vans by big stars.

Karan is right to a large extent

Karan also expressed concern over another dangerous trend in the film industry. Karan said that it has been observed for some time that if an action film becomes a hit, then everyone wants to make action films. But in the meantime, if a romantic film becomes a hit, then we do not understand what to do. Of course, Karan is right to a large extent in this matter as well, because in the present times, the Hindi film industry is feeling the lack of good scripts very badly. In the recent past, the reason for the flop films was also said to be their weak scripts.

Films are planned on the subjects of hit genre films

However, the film makers did not learn any lesson from this. Instead of improving the script, they are planning films on the subjects of hit genre films. Whereas the reality is that today if a film of a genre is a hit and you want to make a film on the same genre, then it will take at least one and a half to two years from script, pre-production, shooting to post-production. That means you will be able to release that film after about two years. It is possible that by then some other genre becomes a hit. Although Karan has put his point in front of the world, but it will be interesting to see how far it will go.
