African Cups: two scenarios for the resumption of competitions

Cairo – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided on two scenarios for the resumption of competitions reserved for clubs, namely the Champions League and the African Confederation Cup.

At the end of the meetings held by the club commission and the medical commission, it was decided to put in place a “road map for the resumption” of these two competitions as follows:

Scenario A:

– Play the semi-finals of the two interclub competitions between July 31 and August 9 (first leg matches between July 31 and August 2 and second leg matches between August 7 and 9).

– The Champions League final would take place on August 28 and the CAF Cup final on the 23rd of the same month.

Scenario B:

– Play the semi-finals and finals of both competitions in September. The first legs of the last two squares would take place between September 4 and 6 and the return matches between September 11 and 13.

– The Champions League final would be played on September 25 and the CAF Cup final on the 23rd of the same month.

The final decision will be taken by CAF before the end of June.

The semi-finals of the Champions League will see Raja Casablanca and Zamalek (Egypt) face off, while Wydad Casablanca will face the other Egyptian club Al Ahly.

As for the last four of the CAF Cup, they will pit Renaissance Berkane against Hassania Agadir, and Pyramids (Egypt) against Horoya Conakry (Guinea).
