The Israeli youth archery team has shown outstanding results at the European Championships, which conclude today. Roy Dror and Shamai Yamarom brought the country two gold medals in different categories, becoming European champions among boys under 21.

Roy Dror, already a confirmed participant in the Paris Olympics, won the Recurve title, confirming his status as one of the best young archers. In a tense final, he beat Barkay Akyun from Turkey, demonstrating outstanding precision and endurance.

Shamai Yamarom, in turn, won the combined archery category, showing skill and confidence. In the final, he met Lorenzo Gubini from Italy, who was unable to provide serious resistance. Yamarom hit the target with ten of his fifteen arrows, leaving his opponent far behind.

These successes marked the first time that Israelis have become European champions in these disciplines, which indicates significant progress in the development of archery in the country. In addition, the team also won bronze in the team event, which brought Israel to fifth place in the medal table of the championship.

Amit Shiner-Dandeker, Chairman of the Israel Archery Association, expressed pride in the team’s achievements: “This is the result of long-term planning, excellent preparation and hard work by our archers. We are focused on the upcoming Olympic Games and are confident in our athletes’ ability to show high results there as well.”
