There are 410 government primary schools in 12 upazilas of Tangail running with Acting Principals. Assistant teachers are fulfilling the duties of active principals in those schools. It interferes with studies. Complexity is also increasing in administrative work. Overall, the primary schools are burdened by active principals. The teachers demand to bring back the learning environment by appointing principals in those schools soon. The district’s education office says the lack of government recruitment is the cause of this teacher shortage.
