jpnn.comJAKARTA – The National Police are recruiting 45 prospective officers to combat cybercrime. The 45 prospective officers consist of 38 men and 7 women.

“They were recruited through the SIPSS (School of Police Inspectors for Undergraduate Sources),” said the Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources (As SDM Kapolri) Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo in his press release, Friday (12/7).

Dedi explained that the 45 prospective officers have a higher education background and have skills in the fields of Computer Engineering, Informatics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Visual Communication Design, Agents/Technology/Cyber/Intelligence Economy, Cryptographic Engineering, Cryptographic Hardware Engineering and Cyber ​​Security.

“They will undergo education at the Police Academy, Semarang. So we recruit these 45 prospective officers regularly and proactively,” said Dedi.

Dedi said that strengthening personnel who have skills in the field of technology and information is in line with the direction of the Chief of Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo so that the Bhayangkara Corps is able to face future challenges, where crimes or disturbances to security and order (kamtibmas) do not only occur in the field, but also in the virtual world.

“The National Police SSDM, in accordance with its duties and functions, and of course in accordance with the direction of the Chief of Police, is recruiting personnel to strengthen its ability to combat cybercrime,” said Dedi.

In the 2023 Year-End Release, General Sigit revealed prominent cybercrimes during 2023. The cases range from crypto theft to APK-Link fraud.

“The case of illegal access and theft of crypto coins on the coinbase.com site with a total loss of IDR 45 billion with two suspects,” said General Sigit.
