In its editorial, the quarterly review (April-June 2024) returns to this complex issue which affects each individual, with each click and each connection, thus raising “fundamental questions on the confidentiality, security and control of our personal information online”.

According to the columnist, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) brings new questions about privacy and raises ethical risks and concerns about the use of personal data.

It is therefore imperative to better prepare ourselves to take advantage of the incredible possibilities offered by AI, while remaining constantly attentive to “not losing sight of our ethical compass,” we read in the editorial.

The “Royal Activities” section focuses on the visit of the President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, to Morocco, who was received by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on February 21 at the Royal Palace in Rabat. This visit is part of the continuity of the new phase of bilateral relations, which began since the meeting between His Majesty the King, may God glorify Him, and the President of the Spanish Government, in April 2022, and the adoption, on that occasion, of the Joint Declaration between the two countries.

On the occasion of this Audience, the President of the Spanish Government reiterated to His Majesty the King, may God preserve Him, the position of Spain, contained in the joint declaration of April 2022, considering the Moroccan autonomy initiative as the most serious, realistic and credible basis for the resolution of this issue.

This section also mentions the launch, on Wednesday March 13, 2024, by His Majesty King Mohammed VI of the national operation “Ramadan 1445”, initiated by the Mohamed V Foundation for Solidarity, benefiting one million households, or nearly 5 million people.

The “Royal Activities” section also recalls that His Majesty proceeded, on Tuesday March 26 in the Lissasfa district, at the level of the Hay Hassani district prefecture (Casablanca), to the laying of the first stone of a local medical center – Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the launch of the 2nd phase of the Connected Mobile Medical Units program – Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.

In the “Decryption” section, the magazine looks back on the visit of a delegation from the Royal Gendarmerie, led by Army Corps General Mohammed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, on Thursday March 21, 2024 to the Mohammed V Mausoleum, to pay their respects at the tomb of the late His Majesty King Mohammed V, on the occasion of the commemoration of the anniversary of His passing, may God surround Him with His infinite mercy.

Regarding international cooperation, the Decryption highlights, among other things, the meeting between Army Corps General Mohammed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, and the President of the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), Holger Münch, which focused on ways to strengthen and improve bilateral cooperation in the field of training, exchange of expertise, experiences and good practices in security.

In its “Zoom” section, the quarterly review looks at the Central Canine Service of the Royal Gendarmerie (SCCyno), a unit specializing in the use of dogs for security, search and rescue missions, offering, in this context, cross-views on the profession of dog handler.

Under the title “Protecting privacy in the face of the cyber threat”, the Dossier of the 80th issue of the journal warns against the proliferation of digital technologies that threaten privacy, requiring special attention and demanding a collective, coordinated and multidimensional approach, noting the specific risks to which individuals are exposed online, the protection of personal data in an increasingly connected world, as well as best practices in this area.

In addition, in the section “The Big Interview” with the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, the government official looks back on the major reforms that the national education system is undergoing, highlighting the efforts implemented to strengthen and improve the quality of teaching in Moroccan schools.

The “Strategy” section includes an article entitled “Water footprint: strategic issue and water sovereignty”, calling for addressing water vulnerabilities, in particular through water transport possibilities, seawater desalination processes and modern smart technologies.

In its “Focus” section, the publication highlights that the Royal Gendarmerie, through its Environmental Brigades, is actively involved in the protection of the public hydraulic domain, in close coordination with the various parties concerned, mainly with the Water Police under the Ministry of Equipment and Water.

In the last section of this issue “Innovation and security”, the periodical focuses on the Royal Gendarmerie’s strengthening of its training arsenal with a new generation driving simulator, noting that this acquisition is part of the construction in 2023 of the brand new Driver Training Center under the Auto-Maintenance Division.
