Rohit got the captaincy in 2021
Virat Kohli had announced to leave the captaincy in this format after the T20 World Cup in 2021. Then he was removed from the captaincy of ODIs. In early 2022, Virat also left the Test captaincy. Now Ganguly says that Team India has become the champion, so no one even remembers who made Rohit the captain. In an interview to a Bengali newspaper, Dada said, ‘When I handed over the captaincy to Rohit, I was criticized. And now when we have won the trophy under his captaincy, no one is abusing me. Everyone has forgotten that I made him the captain.’
