Women-workers-must-cover-up-even-with-a-blanket-say-taliban | Women must cover their faces, use blankets, or go to work; Taliban with new law

by time news

The Taliban have demanded that Afghan women working in government institutions cover their faces and use blankets if necessary. The Taliban warned that they would lose their jobs otherwise. After coming to power in August, women were fired from all major government services. The Taliban said some of the women would be reinstated after the new conditions were met.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Value Education has said that women should not go out to work without covering their faces and bodies. The government warned that women who did not do so would lose their jobs. ‘Women can follow the hijab the way they want. But there should be no compromise on dress. The body should be completely covered. If you have to wear a blanket, do so, “said Taliban spokesman Mohammad Sadeq Akhif Muhajir.

The Taliban, which came to power with a promise to be lenient with the legitimate needs of the people, banned music in public places and TV programs featuring women. A woman is not allowed to travel more than 72 km without a male family member.
