The conversation with the PP-DB about our future relations in the Sofia municipality is forthcoming, Boris Bonev, the chairman of the group of municipal councilors from the PP-DB-Save Sofia in the Sofia municipal council, told the BNR.

“For us, Sofia is a cause. For me and my colleagues from “Save Sofia”, it is extremely unpleasant that we, who have been the main opponents of GERB in Sofia for so many years, have to bear responsibility and share the blame for other people’s mistakes, made at the national level, which were not even agreed upon and commented on with us. However, this way of working from my side ends. Talks with the PP-DB about our future relationship, about how this coalition will be in the Metropolitan Municipality, are pending. These will be serious talks. What I can promise from the side of “Save Sofia” is that we will be principled. Whenever we have had talks, they have been based on policies, not on posts, not on distribution power”, he was categorical.

According to him, the change of directors of six of the most important municipal companies in Sofia is not only immoral, but also illegal.

He specified that they are not opposed to the change of directors itself, but to the way in which it is done:

“Our vision was, and we had ready reports that were rejected, to go directly to fair, transparent competitions, where the best candidates would be selected. But the economic majority, led by GERB, decided to put directly in the place of the current directors some 26 anonymous people, with only one CV presentation”.

According to him, even if there are new contests for permanent management of the companies, they will be vitiated by the advisors from GERB, DPS, ITN and VMRO:

“The contests are scheduled by a commission they chose, according to rules for holding the contests they chose. /…/ We don’t expect any meaningful result. We expect at least 90% of the temporary appointees to suddenly find themselves and permanently appointed after the so-called competition, which will be held by GERB, BSP, ITN, VMRO and the breakaways from “Vazrazhdane”.

We have no control, Bonev admitted and explained: “This is the same as having a government, but not having a majority in the parliament. The municipal council can actively sabotage the work of the mayor. We in the municipal council do not have a majority. We do not rule there. GERB rules there with their court carpetbaggers, especially BSP, which became an appendage of GERB, instead of their opponent”.

He described Carlos Contrera as “GERB’s dirty work boy.”
