The Sofia Mathematical High School “Paisiy Hilendarski” for another year accepts students with the highest minimum score after 7th grade. After her, the Technological School “Electronic Systems” at the Technical University in Sofia (TUES) ranks second. This year, two classes from vocational high schools beat elite language high schools. These are the classes on system programming at the Sofia Vocational High School of Electronics “John Atanasov” and on construction and architecture at the Sofia Vocational High School of Construction, Architecture and Geodesy “Hristo Botev”. This is shown by a reference by “Dnevnik” from the data of the Regional Department of Education in Sofia for the minimum and maximum points in the classes, published on the website of the department.
The results of the national external evaluations in Bulgarian language and literature and in mathematics are the entrance for the high schools, and the competitive score is formed from them and from the school evaluations in these two subjects. The formula for forming the score is different for each class, and each high school determines the weight of the individual components. The maximum score is 500 points. In the competitive ball for the National Natural Science and Mathematics High School “Acad. L. Chakalov” the results of the Natural Sciences and Geography competition “Acad. Lyubomir Chakalov” or more than 60% of the maximum points achieved from the regional round of the Biology and Health Education Olympiad take part , physics, chemistry and environmental protection, geography and economics.
