The Bulgarian national boxing team finished their preparatory camp in the French city of Nancy with matches with Olympic champions and hard training, the federation reports.

Under the guidance of Joel Arate, Valentin Poptolev and Alexander Alexandrov, they held the final stage of their camp.

Radoslav Rosenov, Rami Keuan and Javier Ibanez are already in pre-start fever, having had the opportunity to spar with some of the biggest names in world boxing. A total of 72 boxers from 20 countries, including four Olympic champions and three medalists, another 15 world medalists, as well as over 30 continental ones, were part of the Bulgarians’ opponents. Among them, the gold medalist from Tokyo – Zhakhodir Jalolov (Uzbekistan), as well as the two-time Olympic champion from Rio and Tokyo – Julio la Cruz (Cuba).

“I’m very pleased with the work we did in France. An excellently organized camp that gave us the opportunity to spar with some of the biggest names in the world,” said men’s coach Joel Arate.

“Javier had meetings with the national teams of Cuba, Colombia and Palestine. Radoslav played with the leading names of Uzbekistan, Thailand and Hungary, and Rami entered the ring against those of Serbia, Uzbekistan and Jordan. I thank the federation and the president Krasimir Ininski for the opportunity to prepare here before the Olympic Games. After the completion of this training base, we can say that our team is in optimal conditions to attack the Olympic medals,” he added.
