England defender Alexander-Arnold has responded to skepticism about the Three Lions’ ability to win the Euro 2024 title.
The English national team succeeded for the first time in qualifying for the final of a tournament outside its home country, and the second in a row in the European Nations, after losing the final of the last edition to Italy at Wembley Stadium 3 years ago.
However, the Spanish national team will be the team’s toughest challenge so far in the tournament, but Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool defender, stressed that his team must play with great focus against this strong opponent, and that doubting the victory is a crime.
“Our mentality cannot change,” said Alexander-Arnold, who scored the penalty that helped his team qualify for the semi-finals at the expense of Switzerland after coming on as a substitute.
“You have to be aggressive in every game you play, in training and everything around that,” he added.
“To get there you have to have the best players in every position and that’s what we are, we’ve found the right rhythm for us on the pitch and it’s come at the right time as well,” Arnold continued.
“As they always say: it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. We finished that tournament well and hopefully things will be better on Sunday,” he explained.
“To have even doubts going into the final would be a crime in my opinion,” Arnold said.
