In the first week of July, the first month of the current financial year 2024-25, remittances of 9786 million 50 thousand US dollars have arrived in the country through legal channels. An average of 75.2 million dollars remittances came every day. In local currency (118 taka per dollar) which amounts to taka 11 thousand 548 crores.
This information is known from the updated report published by the central bank on Sunday (July 14).
After reviewing the data of the central bank, it was found that the amount of remittances received in the first week of July was 13.67 million dollars through state-owned banks, 5.47 million dollars through a specialized bank, and 78.9 million dollars through private banks. 25 lakh 40 thousand US dollar remittances came through dollars and foreign banks.
Earlier, in the last month of June 2023-24 financial year, remittances came in at US$ 254.2 million. Which is the highest remittance in the last three financial years. As a single month which is the highest remittance in 47 months.
197 crore 31 lakh in July, 159 crore 94 lakh in August, 133 crore 43 lakh in September, 197 crore 14 lakh in October, 193 crore in November, 19912 crore in December, 211 crore 31 lakh in January, 216 crore 45 lakh in February , 199 crore 70 million in March, 204 crore 42 million came in April, 225 crore 38 million US dollars came in May.
