The club revealed its position through SNS on the 12th.
Professional soccer team K League 1 Daejeon Hana Citizen denied the suspension of striker Kim In-gyun due to use of banned substances, saying it was not true.
On the 12th, Daejeon revealed its position on Kim In-gyun through social networking services (SNS).
This was a statement refuting the report that Kim In-gyun had been suspended for taking banned substances.
Daejeon, which stated that “it is not true,” explained, “Kim In-gyun was found to have taken banned substances as a result of a doping test after the match against Daegu FC in the 8th round of the league on April 21.”
He added, “After confirming with the athlete, he recently took prescription medication for cold symptoms, and we immediately submitted explanatory materials to the Korea Anti-Doping Agency for a post-event exemption application.”
In doing so, he said, “The opinion was officially approved on June 24th as a result of taking prescription medication for acute pharyngitis,” and “We would like to inform you that the use of banned substances by our players and the resulting suspension are groundless.”
Daejeon also emphasized that it would correct the false report, saying, “The club has official information about this and will actively respond to ensure that the player in question is not harmed by incorrect information.”
Kim In-gyun left Chungnam Asan in the 2022 K League 2 season and joined Daejeon.
He has been performing consistently and has appeared in 16 matches and scored 1 goal in the ‘Hana Bank K League 1 2024’.
