Boca beat Instituto 70-66 on Saturday in the fourth game of the National League final to tie the series 2-2 and move everything to Córdoba next Tuesday.
The Xeneize started the match well with a great contribution from the most experienced players like Marcos Mata and Leonardo Mainoldi to win the first quarter 21-16.
But in the second, Lucas Victoriano’s team pushed hard, taking the partial 17-14 to shorten the difference and leave the home team only ahead 35-33.
The third quarter was the most complicated for the blue and gold because the visitors felt more comfortable on the court, showed more fluidity in their game and managed to win 22-17 to take the lead in the match by 55-52.
In the last ten minutes it was clear that the one who made the most mistakes would end up paying dearly, and that is what happened to Instituto. La Gloria was ahead on the scoreboard for 8 of the 10 minutes of the quarter, but with a three-pointer from Mata in the corner the home team went on to win. At the important moment, the team led by Gonzalo Pérez did not fail and managed to win the game by 70-66.
The series thus moves back to Alta Gracia Córdoba next Tuesday for the fifth game.
Boca’s standouts were Mata with 15, José Vildoza with 14 and Leonel Schattman with 10. While Nicolas Coppello’s 16 and Mauro Cosolito’s 15 were not enough for La Gloria.
