It all started with “not great” fish and chips in London. Ghislain Foucque, an entrepreneur, and Anne-Sophie Battin, an event worker, are waiting in line at a well-rated restaurant on the Internet. On the spot, they discovered a menu translated into all languages and company noise in the dining room. In short, the couple ended their weekend in a tourist trap. “We say to ourselves: but why not ask Londoners directly ? » sigh again, three years later, Ghislain Foucque.
To compensate for this tribute, Marseille fans created PimpMyTrip, an application that allows residents to share their good deals. Users specify their interests and budget to put in contact with “pimpeurs”, communities that will provide them with “address books” corresponding to their profile. The idea convinced professionals: PimpMyTrip won the 2024 travel innovation competition, in the startup category, on July 4. “The goal is to give communities something,” sums up co-founder Ghislain Foucque.
