From July 18 to 20, 2024, Casablanca will vibrate to the rhythm of rock, urban and fusion music as well as Amazigh, Gnaoui and Aïta music to strengthen the city’s identity on the stages of the Toro space and the Place des Nations Unies, indicates a press release from the organizers.

Casablanca, with its open mind and cultural buzz, has always been a breeding ground for avant-garde artistic movements. Rock, in particular, has found a receptive and passionate audience in Casablanca. On July 18, the WeCasablanca festival will host the group Meteor Airlines, a fusion of alternative rock and traditional sounds, which has just received the “Best Artistic Practices Awards” in the Mediterranean region, during the Creact4Med ceremony in Barcelona. Mixing musical genres, they push back musical and cultural boundaries and captivate their audience with influences of jazz, blues, indie rock, traditional influences and reinvent classical sounds.

WeCasablanca will also delight urban music fans featuring Tagne, a talented artist who has established himself as a headliner of the Moroccan rap scene and Farid Ghannam, known for his unique voice and his taste for transcending the Gnaoua, pop and R&B musical genres. They will put the city of Casablanca in the spotlight and will make the audience dance.

Casablanca residents will also be able to enjoy the rich Amazigh culture with Badr Ouabi, a talented and inspiring musician who combines the world of his Amazigh roots from the Middle Atlas with contemporary forms of expression and Aïcha Tachenouit, a talented Amazigh singer and dancer. Electro music fans will be delighted by the performances of DJ Omary, Sound Of Mint and DJ MKA on the Place des Nations Unies stage, respectively on July 18, 19 and 20, as well as by D33P SOUL on the Espace Toro stage on the three nights of the festival. These DJs skillfully fuse traditional and contemporary rhythms to create dynamic and energetic sets.
