The Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, Ambato Campus, is committed to quality education by providing equal opportunities for all students. In this sense, as an axis of its service, it invites and calls upon the community in general to participate in the San Ignacio Scholarship aimed at people from homes with limited economic resources and vulnerable conditions.

The program provides significant financial support to promote access to quality higher education (degree, technical and technological courses) for talented high school graduates with significant economic needs who, despite their personal or social setbacks, have proven to be resilient people, motivated to excel and who seek to make a positive contribution to their communities.

Equal opportunities are a goal of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, Ambato Campus. Therefore, the number one Strategic Objective of the university is to contribute to democratizing access to quality higher education by increasing the number of students who reflect the social and cultural diversity of the country and the world and who participate in the educational project of the university. In response to the measurement of academic excellence by the number of people who are excluded from education, the PUCE responds that more quality for more people is its way of understanding excellence.

The San Ignacio Scholarship covers up to 100% of the cost of tuition, fees and foreign language throughout the university career, with no refund of said amounts. Application requirements include: High school diploma, belonging to a low-income household, not yet having a third-level degree, submitting the application (filling out the form and attaching the requested evidence), complying with the admission process, priority will be given to admission of people who have some condition of vulnerability, the requirements and conditions of the scholarship may vary from one period to another.

Among the conditions, those considered to be low-income students are those with conditions such as: household income less than $500 per month, serious or catastrophic illnesses, unemployment, special abilities, among others.

Applicants who receive a financial incentive from the Government (Human Development Bonus) will be able to obtain the San Ignacio Scholarship directly.
