Morocco elected to host the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly

Participants in the 91st session of the General Assembly of the Organization, which is being held in the Austrian capital, representing 196 member countries, have renewed their confidence in the Kingdom and its security institutions, entrusting it with the organization of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly.

The General Assembly, Interpol’s highest decision-making body, meets regularly with the heads of law enforcement agencies and departments from member countries to assess global security challenges and emerging crime trends and discuss ways to address them.

Speaking following the vote in favour of the Moroccan candidacy, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, expressed the thanks of the Kingdom of Morocco to all those who spoke in favour of the organisation of this global event in Marrakech.

He also stressed Morocco’s commitment to consolidating international efforts in the fight against terrorism and various forms of cross-border crime.

Mr. Hammouchi also stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco and its national security services are fully ready to host this renowned security forum in the best conditions, maintaining that Morocco provides constant support to Interpol and member countries in their efforts in favor of global security and stability.

During the presentation of the Moroccan candidacy, a video was shown which retraces the progress underway in the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him.

This video highlights the various facets of modernization and development experienced by Moroccan security services, allowing them to occupy a pioneering place in the field of international security cooperation.

The choice of Morocco to host this global event also reflects the aura and image that the Kingdom enjoys in its regional and international environment, thanks to the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, as well as the credibility and great confidence in Moroccan security institutions, known for having accumulated significant experience and expertise in the fight against terrorism and organized crime.
