These projects and operations were carried out as part of supporting the spirit of entrepreneurship among young people, one of the major axes of the INDH’s interventions, which works to guarantee these young people the financing, support and supervision necessary to realize their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs and contributing to local development.
Sixty-eight projects were carried out by women, representing 31.92% of all operations, according to figures from the Social Action Division (DAS) within the Meknes prefecture, which indicates that the overall investment mobilized for the realization of these projects amounts to more than 23.8 million DH, including 34% reserved for projects led by women (8.1 million DH).
The legal form of self-employment is the most popular among women beneficiaries of INDH support during the period under review with 48 projects, or 70% of the total, followed by limited liability companies (SARL) with 12 projects and the single-member company (8 projects/18%).
As for the sectors of activity chosen by these women, the DAS specifies that crafts occupy first place with 38 projects (56% of projects), followed by services (20 projects/29% of projects), education (7 projects/10% of projects) and trade and industry (3 projects/4% of projects).
It should be recalled that a total of 1,468 women registered between 2021 and 2023 to benefit from the services of the “Meknes-Zaytouna Youth Platform”, created by the National Initiative for Human Development with the aim of facilitating access to the initiative’s programs, particularly for the benefit of innovative project leaders.
Within this platform, equipped with equipment and spaces for reception, listening, orientation, support and training, the African Sustainable Development Network, a service provider association, is responsible for supporting young people in terms of business leadership, while the “Grande Ismailia” Association works to assume the management of the platform through the reception, listening and orientation of young people.
The “Income Improvement and Economic Inclusion of Youth” program is part of the third phase of the INDH. The youth platform was created to contribute to improving the economic and social situation of disadvantaged populations, particularly young people, through support for employment, entrepreneurship and support for projects within the framework of the social and solidarity economy.
