A charity concert “Karabakh Night” (Qarabağ gecəsi), organized by the Karabakh Revival Fund and the Philharmonic, was held at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, Day.Az reports.
Before the concert, a photo exhibition entitled “Urbicide in Karabakh” was presented in the Philharmonic’s foyer.
Speaking at the opening, Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund Rahman Hajiyev and Chairman of the Board of Azerlotereya OJSC Osman Karakush, which is one of the partners of the event, emphasized that an active process of construction and revival is underway in the liberated territories, airports, cities and villages are being built, and residents are returning to their native lands.
The concert featured performances by the Qaytağı instrumental ensemble led by People’s Artist Enver Sadigov and Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab.
Those who supported the project were presented with a special plaque and a “Certificate of Gratitude”. A performance by the State Song and Dance Ensemble named after Fikret Amirov was presented under the direction of artistic director and chief conductor, People’s Artist Agaverdi Pashayev.
The proceeds from the concert will be used to reconstruct cultural sites in the territories liberated from occupation.
