(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 15 – There are approximately 395,000 cancer diagnoses estimated in 2023, with a daily average of a thousand cases per day. Genetic and environmental factors, but also behavioral ones, contribute to the risk of developing a tumor. To promote the importance of primary prevention and therefore healthy habits among the population, the Aiom Foundation (Italian Association of Medical Oncology) is launching a new national campaign: “Tumors, Choose Prevention”, created with the unconditional contribution of Daiichi Sankyo Italia. A healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet, regular physical activity, reduced alcohol consumption and abstention from smoking is in fact essential to avoid the onset of oncological diseases as much as possible. The initiative will be presented on Thursday 18 July at 11:30 in Rome, in a press conference that will see the participation of Saverio Cinieri (President of the Aiom Foundation – Italian Association of Medical Oncology), Paolo Marchetti (President of the Foundation for Personalized Medicine), Antonella Campana (Patient Advocate of the IncontraDonna Foundation) and Mauro Vitali (Head of Oncology Business Division of Daiichi Sankyo Italia).
