American doctor, Chris Butcher, confirmed that drinking coffee immediately after waking up can lead to risks that affect the health of the body.
The doctor noted that many people notice an increase in energy and activity, increased concentration and improved digestion after drinking a cup of coffee in the morning. However, according to the doctor, you should not drink it first thing after waking up.
The doctor explained that caffeine acts as a mild diuretic, which makes the kidneys work harder.
He explained that this effect does not harm the body, but if it is consumed early in the morning, coffee can cause dehydration, because the problem is that throughout the night, the person effectively loses fluids through sweat and does not renew them naturally.
The doctor recommends drinking four cups of water before starting to prepare and drink coffee, as this will restore the body’s water balance and prevent feelings of discomfort, thirst, and drowsiness.
