In a joint statement, a group of organizations of judges and magistrates indicated that they will oppose the proposed changes to elect these positions by popular vote using other strategies.

“It is clarified that it is not the responsibility of federal judges, nor is it part of their common objectives or action plan, to know, resolve or promote strategies on issues such as overrepresentation in Congress or any electoral conflict arising from the last elections,” they indicated.
