On Friday, July 5, 2024, the Rafael Brito Mendoza Coliseum was filled with joy and pride as it was the setting for the Velasco Ibarra Educational Unit’s graduation ceremony. In an event full of emotion, 131 students celebrated the culmination of a crucial stage in their academic lives. Among the graduates, 112 students completed the Unified General Baccalaureate, while 19 obtained the Technical Baccalaureate, highlighting the effort and dedication of each of them.

The event was attended by the distinguished Mayor Miguel Marcatoma, who in his speech highlighted the importance of education as a fundamental pillar for the development of the community. “Education is the foundation on which we build a better future for all. Today we celebrate not only the achievement of these young people, but also the commitment of their families and teachers who have been fundamental pillars in their education,” said Marcatoma.

Along with the mayor, Vice Mayor Irma Quito, Cayetana Quintanilla, Queen of Guamote, students, parents and numerous members of the educational community were also present.
