Free embedded insurance provided to all those who make health check-up reservations through the ‘Good Doctor’ app

Viva Innovation Co., Ltd., the operator of the health checkup platform ‘Good Doctor’, announced that it will provide the ‘Good Doctor Endoscopy Safety Guarantee’ service through a business partnership with Samsung Life Insurance.

The Good Doctor Endoscopy Peace of Mind Guarantee is a benefit that provides coverage of up to KRW 10 million for one year from the date of subscription for anaphylactic shock that may occur due to an allergic reaction to anesthesia during an endoscopy and for accidental injuries that may occur when using public transportation while still under anesthesia. It is provided to all customers who make a reservation for a comprehensive checkup for three months from July to September.

In particular, Good Doctor is the first health checkup platform to guarantee risks that may occur during the checkup process, and is playing a leading role in eliminating blind spots in health checkups by creating an environment where even minorities who were reluctant to get health checkups due to concerns about allergies can receive them with peace of mind.

“This partnership is a service that demonstrates the platform company’s sense of responsibility in taking care of even the small risks in daily life that can occur during the health checkup process,” said Jeong-il Oh, Chief Customer Officer (CCO) of Viva Innovation. “In the future, Good Doctor will continue to make new attempts to combine health checkups with various lifestyle areas other than insurance so that health checkups can become the starting point of proper health management.”

Meanwhile, Good Doctor is a comprehensive health checkup platform that started with 1.6 million users based on individual (B2C) customers and secured about 90 corporate (B2B) customers in just over a year, taking care of the entire checkup journey including health checkup hospitals, products, reservations/payments, result confirmation, and checkup aftercare. In addition, it is a startup that has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning model that analyzes past health checkup results to recommend tests to individuals, and has received medical device approval (grade 1, 2, and 3) for AI telemedicine software that recommends treatment departments and test items based on the patient’s symptoms or health condition through continuous research and development with university hospitals.
