On the very edge of Regensburg, where the upper Palatinate looks very rural, only the inconspicuous nameplate in the middle of the square shows the way to Damasko, a manufacturer of luxury watches. There is nothing fancy here. On the contrary: a roadless road leads past an old bathroom renovation shop and an old-fashioned hall in which a car dealer stored winter tires. The plaster on the facades is crumbling peacefully. Three years ago, the long barracks were part of a chicken farm.
