New Delhi: The Supreme Court has heard petitions seeking a ban on the film ‘Gangubai Kathiyavadi’, saying the production company may consider changing the name of the film.
Gangubai Kathiyavadi is a Hindi film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Alia Bhatt. It is out nationwide tomorrow. Ganguly Kathiyavadi is based on the true story of Price, a native of Kamathipura, Mumbai, who rose to prominence in politics.
The apex court, which heard the petitions, said the production company could consider changing the name of the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s lawyer said that he would discuss the matter with his client. The Supreme Court accepted this and adjourned the case till today.
