According to the information, compared to April of this year, the credit card spending of Bangladeshis has decreased by Tk 50 crore in May. And the cost of foreigners in Bangladesh has decreased by 30 crore taka. Bangladeshis spend the most money on credit cards abroad in a few countries. Among them, India, USA, Thailand and UAE are at the top. However, compared to April, Bangladeshis have reduced spending on credit cards in India, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. On the contrary, the spending of Bangladeshis in America and UK has increased.
A large number of Bangladeshis visit India every month for travel and medical treatment. In recent times, the travel of Bangladeshis to the country has increased significantly. Due to this reason, credit card of Bangladeshis is mostly used in India.
According to the review, in May of this year, Bangladeshis spent Tk 76.5 million using credit cards in neighboring India and Tk 75.90 million in America. And in April, he spent 97.9 million rupees in India and 66.5 million rupees in America.
In the month of May, Bangladeshis spent 35 million 10 million rupees in the United States, 38 million 2 million rupees in Thailand and 36 million 30 million rupees in the United Arab Emirates.
Officials of Bangladesh Bank said that a Bangladeshi citizen can spend foreign currency equivalent to 12 thousand dollars every year by going abroad. You can spend this money through cards, and you can also take cash dollars with you when you go abroad. However, if you want to make a dollar payment through the card, you have the opportunity to spend up to a maximum of 300 dollars at a time.
