Singer Doan Truong Real name is Doan Phuc Truong, born in 1979. After graduating as valedictorian from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in 1986, he was awarded a scholarship to study abroad in Moscow (Russia).
Singer Doan Truong took a photo with his father when he was young. He confided: “I grew up in a poor and miserable family, so from an early age I was aware of the need to live frugally and simply.”
In 1995, received a Master’s degree in Chemistry with honors, Doan Truong He returned home and worked as a quality control supervisor for a shoe and sportswear corporation for 9 years. After that, he continued to hold important positions in several foreign corporations.
The male singer once shared with the media: “After studying abroad in Russia, I returned home at the right time when Vietnam’s economy began its opening period. With a Master’s degree and the ability to communicate in 4 foreign languages: Russian – English – Chinese – Korean, I felt it would be a waste not to switch to business. Singing is always possible, so I can proactively arrange my time in the evening or on weekends.
Surprisingly, my “side job” brought in more income than my “right job”. There were nights when I ran several shows, each show singing 3 songs, and I earned more than half a month’s salary from the company.
In the 1990s, Doan Truong was considered one of the “Four Heavenly Kings” along with Lam Truong, Dan Truong and Van Truong, receiving a salary of more than 2 taels of gold for a show, and was sought after by many people.
Notably, Doan Truong was one of the first people to remix Chinese and Korean music into Vietnamese lyrics, but it was not known to the public because at that time there was not enough money to make a professional music product. When other singers used that song to write different lyrics and released it properly, it was well received by the audience.

Doan Truong owns a number of hits such as: Lonely, Romantic Love, Dau yeu, Em torn words of love… He has won many awards such as first prize in the Ho Chi Minh City Student Singing Festival in 1985, first prize in the Moscow Student Singing Festival, second prize in the Golden Voice of Students of the Russian Federation (1993) with more than 20 participating countries, and the Favorite Album Award in 2006. After 10 years of singing, in 2009, he decided to withdraw from the entertainment industry to wholeheartedly work for foreign corporations.
Changing stage name is a step up

In 1995, he returned to Vietnam to take care of his family and entered the entertainment industry with the stage name “Phuoc Truong”, but the male singer has not yet made an impression on music lovers.
One time, by chance, while performing with the famous singer Le Tuan at that time, Doan Truong proactively asked and was suggested by his senior to change his stage name.
The new stage name was introduced by MC Thanh Bach during the music program that day. Unexpectedly, Doan Truong was later loved by more audiences and achieved many successes in his career.
Fill loneliness with travel
Doan Truong is successful in his career but has had a rough love life. He has been married twice but divorced both times.
The male singer wants to live happily, live healthily, and love himself more.
The male singer said that his only regret up to now is not having “given” his mother a grandchild to hold. He believes: “Perhaps in this life I don’t owe anyone, and no one owes me. So, I always live happily, live healthily, enjoy the rest of my life, love myself more, and take care of my parents and sister.”
Currently, at the age of U50, Doan Truong lives alone without a wife or children. Occasionally, he still participates in some music programs introduced by friends and acquaintances. “I have enough glory! I have had my own live show, been on radio and television stations, participated in more than 100 game shows, and been an MC for many big programs…
Now, I just like to sing for charity programs, advertise for a few brands and continue to travel and explore many countries around the world.”
