/ Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received today, Thursday, the head of the Football Association, Adnan Darjal, and the coach of the national team, Jesus Casas.

Football Association member Firas Bahr Al-Ulum told Agency that the Iraqi Prime Minister personally called for a meeting with the national team coach, Kasas, and to discuss with him matters related to the participation in the Asian Championship.

Bahr Al-Uloom confirmed that the union is committed to coach Kasas during a meeting with him and the assistant technical staff.

He pointed out that the Asian Federation informed the Football Association with an urgent letter to open an investigation into the repercussions of the press conference that was run by Casas after the loss to Jordan.

He pointed out that the Federation seeks to provide reassurance to coach Kassa, stressing that he, the government and the Iraqi public are committed to the coach because he has begun to put Iraqi football on the right path.

He stressed that all indications are that Casas will remain with the national team, and all requirements for his success and protection will be provided, indicating that bonuses for winning previous matches will be paid.

Regarding Casas’ statements to the Spanish newspapers, a source in the Football Association said that Casas, due to the recent repercussions of the journalists and his annoyance, confirmed to the Spanish newspapers in a phone call that he will leave Iraq for Spain and will discuss what happened with his family and relatives to make the final decision regarding whether he will stay or leave the national team.

The Iraqi national team bid farewell to the Asian Cup on Monday afternoon, after a difficult loss to its Jordanian counterpart, who scored a fatal goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time after the end of regular time in the controversial match, especially after it witnessed the expulsion of Iraqi striker Ayman Hussein.

The day before yesterday, Tuesday, the Iraqi Football Association renewed its confidence in the Spanish coach, Jesus Casas, and decided to include him in the Asian Olympic Teams Finals.
