Assala Energy acquisition: Gabon will reimburse Gunvor 12 billion francs per month over 5 years

dig/ We now know a little more about the financial package that facilitated the successful takeover of Assala Energy.

During his appearance on the show, “Les Grands Dossiers” on Gabon 1ère, Sunday July 7, 2024, the general director of Gabon Oil Company (GOC), Marcellin Simba Ngabi, revealed that this purchase operation was out it cost the Gabonese State 633 billion FCFA, equivalent to 600 FCFA cost per dollar, or 1.055 billion dollars.

Regarding repaying the amount borrowed from Gunvor, it will be done over a period of 5 years at a rate of 20 million dollars per month or 12 billion FCFA, for an annual total of 144 billion FCFA (240 million dollars).

This refund starting from September 2024.
