Abu Dhabi: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have issued a warning of heavy fog in various parts of the country. The National Center for Meteorology has warned motorists to be extra careful. It has also been reported that horizontal visibility is likely to be further disrupted in the hinterland and coastal areas of the country.

The vigil will be held on Wednesday (February 23, 2022) from 11 pm to 9.30 am on Thursday (February 24). Abu Dhabi police have urged motorists to be extremely careful on the roads and strictly abide by all traffic rules on social media. The speed limit displayed on the electronic information boards on the roads should be observed during times of fog.

The maximum speed on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai road has been limited to 80 kilometers per hour. Keep a safe distance between vehicles. Drivers who violate traffic rules during snowy times will be fined 500 dirhams and four black points. Authorities have warned owners of heavy vehicles, trucks and buses to abide by traffic rules and speed limits.

School bus catches fire in UAE; Children and staff are safe

Sharjah: A school bus caught fire in the UAE. The incident took place in Al Taawun area, Sharjah. The driver and supervisor of the bus (Safly evacuated) all the children. Civil Defense officials arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control.

Sharjah Civil Defense officials confirmed that none of the children on the bus were injured or had any other symptoms of smoking. The timely intervention of the bus driver and the supervisor on the bus was crucial in getting the children out unscathed. The fire was reported in the operations room of the Sharjah Civil Defense Department at 2.52 pm.

Firefighters rushed to the scene. The fire was brought under control in 14 minutes, Civil Defense said. Awareness and training provided by the Civil Defense to school bus drivers and bus supervisors will help them to carry out rescue operations in a timely manner and move children safely to safety, officials said.
